Fasciitis is an inflammation of the fascia, which is the connective tissue surrounding muscles, blood vessels and nerves, an inflammation of the connective tissue that may be caused by streptococcal or other types of infection, an injury, or anautoimmune reaction, an abnormal benign growth (pseudosarcomatous fasciitis) resembling a tumor that develops in the subcutaneous oraltissues, usually in the cheek. Commonly growing rapidly and then regressing, it consists of young fibroblasts and many capillaries. It often involves, Necrotizing fasciitis, Plantar fasciitis, Eosinophilic fasciitis and Paraneoplastic fasciitis disease.
Symptoms of plantar fasciitis include heel pain and tenderness of the bottom (sole) of the foot. This heel pain can lead to difficulty in weight-bearing on the involved foot. Eosinophilic fasciitis causes inflammation of the tissues beneath the skin as well as sometimes in the skin. This leads to symptoms of swelling, stiffness, warmth, and pain of the involved area. Paraneoplastic fasciitis symptoms may be endocrine, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, cutaneous, haematological and gastrointestinal, renal.
